I HAVE taken in hand, with GOD’S assistance, to write the History of the Holy Eastern Church. The interest of the work can only be equalled by its difficulty; its importance by its peril. Incalculable benefit might arise from an impartial enquiry into the glories of its flourishing, and the misfortunes of its declining condition.
